Submission Guidelines
Please make sure your work follows these guidelines before you submit.
The Student Reader welcomes work that
-
is written by high school students;
-
engages closely with one or more literary works;
-
explores a specific question, interpretation, or judgement arising from reading;
-
develops, tests, revises, or complicates its ideas through close attention to the text;
-
communicates its thinking clearly enough for other high school readers to follow, question, and respond to.
We welcome a variety of approaches and forms, including literary essays, close readings, and experimental writing. Submissions need not arrive at definitive conclusions or follow the conventions of a formal academic essay.
